Shiquan Sun, Ph.D.   Assistant Dean

Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics

Key Laboratory of Trace Elements and Endemic Diseases of National Health and Family Planning Commission

School of Public Health

Xi’an Jiaotong University, Health Science Center

RESEARCH INTEREST

I am interested in developing statistical methods and computational tools for large-scale/high-dimensional functional genomic studies, including bulk and single cell RNA sequencing analysis, bisulfite sequencing analysis, and spatially resolved transcriptomics analysis.

Research Areas:  Bioinformatics; Statistical Methods for Genomics; Machine Learning.

EDUCATION AND TRANING

Before joining Xi’an Jiaotong University, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Northwestern Polytechnical University. He received his postdoc training in Xiang Zhou’s lab in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan. He obtained his PhD degrees at Xi’an Jiaotong University, where his was advised by Qinke Peng. He was trained as both a biostatistician and a computer scientist.
