The department of occupational and environmental health consists of two disciplines, labor health and occupational medicine and environmental hygiene. There are 11 faculty members, including 5 associate professors and 3 lecturers. At present, the subject is a second-level discipline under the doctoral degree of the first-level discipline, and has achieved a large number of achievements in preventive medicine teaching, occupational disease prevention, environmental pollution hazard evaluation and scientific research on related hot issues.
Teaching and student development
The department is responsible for the teaching of occupational health and occupational medicine, environmental hygiene, hygienic toxicology, hygiene, preventive medicine, and public health courses for the undergraduates, international students, and postgraduates majoring in medicine. At the same time, the department also undertakes a number of student internships such as undergraduate special internships and preventive medicine practice, and takes part in preparing of 3 planning teaching materials.
Scientific research
The department of occupational and environmental health is a secondary discipline in public health and preventive medicine. At present, the department is mainly engaged in the prevention and treatment of endemic diseases, the safety evaluation of nanomaterials, the health effects of atmospheric fine particles, and the health effects of High energy negative oxygen ions. In the past 10 years, the whole department has obtained more than 50 national and provincial natural science fund projects and corporate horizontal research projects, with a total funding of more than 6 million yuan. Published more than 100 papers in the past 5 years, of which more than 30 papers have been included in SCI. Received 3 second prizes at the provincial and ministerial level and 3 national patents.

Social service
The department of occupational and environmental health adheres to the needs of the society and has established a teaching model that combines teaching, research and service, and attaches importance to teaching reform and research. The whole department highlights scientific research as teaching support and service, innovation of scientific research ideas, and promotes the development of subject teaching. The teaching team has long adhered to the principle of scientific research for teaching services, and constantly enhances the strength of scientific research and exerts the advantages of scientific research to promote teaching reform. The department has extensive cooperation with the R&D and production enterprises of occupational health supervision and management departments, social occupational health service institutions, pesticide production enterprises, and health-related products and equipment.
