Personal profile:

Dr. Wu is an awardee of the national youth talent program and “Young Talent Support Plan” of Xi’an Jiaotong University. In recent years, Dr. Wu’s research mainly focuses on the impact of air pollution on population health, early effect markers and preventive measures. He has published over 160 papers in international peer-reviewed journals including Nature MedicineEur Heart J, Lancet Public Health, Am J Psychiatry, etc. Multiple articles were published with editorials, official press releases or selected as the cover article/annual article of import of the journals. He was among the Stanford University’s annual “World’s Top 2% Scientists” list for scientific impact in the past 5 years (2019-2023). Dr. Wu has served as the Principal Investigator of many research projects funded by the National Key R & D Program and National Natural Science Foundation of China. He is currently the Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Environment and Genes Related to Diseases (Xi'an Jiaotong University), Ministry of Education, the Vice Chairman of the Environmental Medicine and Health Branch of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences (CSES), a member of the International Society for Environmental Epidemiology (ISEE) Policy Committee, a member of the Environmental Health Standards Professional Committee of the National Committee for Disease Control and Prevention, a councilor of China Environmental Mutagen Society (CEMS), and a member of the Environmental Health Branch of the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine. He received the first annual Young Scientist Award of CSES, and won the second prize of Beijing Science and Technology Award in 2018.
