Nutrition and Food Safety Engineering Research Center of Shaanxi Province
The Shaanxi Provincial Nutrition and Food Safety Engineering Research Center was established in January 2008 with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The center relies on the comprehensive advantages of the discipline of science, engineering and law management of Xi'an Jiaotong University. It is the Food Safety Department, Nutrition Evaluation Research Office, Medical Research Center of the Ministry of Medicine, the Experimental Animal Center of the Ministry of Medicine, the First Affiliated Hospital, and the Second Affiliated Department of the School of Public Health, Xi'an Jiaotong University. The seven units of the hospital and biomedical information center are the core components. The main functional units are: food chemical analysis, food microbiology testing, chemical safety toxicology evaluation, public nutrition evaluation, food and nutrition information analysis center, functional food research and development. , animal testing centers, food safety risk assessment, food safety regulations and standards research.

Since the establishment of the Engineering Center, it has carried out research on food safety emergency and monitoring and early warning technology, participated in the construction of the national foodborne disease monitoring system, purchased large-scale test equipment, improved the relevant laboratory environment, and improved the functional laboratory, which was initially completed in an orderly manner. A comprehensive engineering research center with complete functions, excellent equipment and advanced technology. It uses the center as a platform to apply for research funding support from national, provincial and ministerial levels, enterprises and international organizations, and the pathogenesis and nutrition improvement measures for nutrition-related diseases. Scientific research was carried out in various aspects such as effect evaluation, food safety monitoring and early warning system development, and the establishment of a unique "environment→animal and plant→food→food safety and nutrition standardization control→functional food→population (including special population) The“Nutrition Intervention”R&D platform has gradually established a rapid testing and safety assurance system, a new pollutant detection technology system and a functional food research and development system.
The center has begun to take shape, and has completed more than 100 research projects at the national and provincial level, such as the Ministry of Science and Technology and the National Fund Committee, and has continued to carry out a number of targeted food safety research studies to train doctoral students and postgraduates. More than 200 MPH graduate students have achieved remarkable results.
