Research experience & achievements:
My research primarily focuses on the impact of environmental factors, particularly ozone pollution, on population cardiovascular health, the identification of early biomarkers, and the development of intervention strategies. Based on macro-level population studies, the research has identified a significant association between acute ozone exposure and increased hospitalization risk for major cardiovascular events, such as ischaemic heart disease. Micro-level investigations have revealed that indicators including ST-segment depression events on dynamic electrocardiograms, platelet mtDNA methylation, and troponin T levels serve as sensitive effect biomarkers for ozone-induced acute cardiac impairment. Furthermore, the research has demonstrated that preventive measures at the individual level, such as dietary supplementation with L-arginine and the administration of SGLT2 inhibitors, can effectively mitigate ozone-related cardiovascular hazards.
To date, I have published 12 academic papers as the first author (including co-first author) in renowned domestic and international journals such as the European Heart Journal, Environment International, Environmental Science & Technology, Environmental Research, and Chinese Science Bulletin. Among these, one paper has been designated as an ESI Highly Cited Paper. I have received a project supported by the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central Universities and was selected for the 2024 PhD Candidate Special Program of the Young Elite Scientist Sponsorship Program by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST).
